Who it is for
Cover is written for cars, vans and lorries, mopeds and motorcycles, tractor units, buses, trailers and semi-trailers, trolleybuses, and agricultural, construction, works, wheeled and tracked machinery.
What is covered
Cover is provided for events, grouped into separate clauses, that can lead to the partial or total loss of your vehicle, such as:
- Natural disasters
- Events following the failure of installations outside the vehicle – water, sewage, steam, gas, electricity and others – as well as the explosion of such installations
- Fire and/or explosion following a technical fault
- Road traffic accidents
- Aircraft or other objects falling on the vehicle
- Malicious acts of third parties
- Arson or deliberate detonation
- Theft and robbery of the whole vehicle
- Theft by breaking in of insured, permanently fitted audio equipment
- Motor assistance abroad – peace of mind when travelling outside the country (on the territory of the EU member states and the member states of the Multilateral Green Card Agreement), covering specialist technical, transport and legal assistance
- Roadside assistance on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, for cars and goods vehicles up to 3.5 t gross weight
- Where the cover applies
The Republic of Bulgaria, the member states of the European Union (EU) and the member states of the Multilateral Green Card Agreement. The risks “Theft of the whole vehicle”, “Robbery of the whole vehicle”, “Fire and/or explosion following a technical fault” and “Arson or deliberate detonation of the vehicle” apply where the event occurred on the territory of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Kosovo, and on the territory of those member states of the Multilateral Green Card Agreement that lie outside Europe, with the exception of the Republic of Türkiye.
When the policy is written you can choose how damage to your car is to be put right in the event of a claim. The options depend on the age of the vehicle and on the special terms chosen:
- Main dealer
The cost of repair at the workshop of an official importer for Bulgaria is covered, or against original invoices. Available for every type of vehicle up to 5 years old at the minimum premium, and, at an additional premium, for cars and goods vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes gross weight aged over 4 and up to 8 years, at the minimum sum insured. - Approved workshop
The cost of repair at a workshop approved by the insurer is covered, against original invoices. Can be agreed for every type of vehicle with no limit on age and at the minimum premium, under the insurer’s tariff in force. - Loss assessment
The compensation due is determined on the basis of the insurer’s own assessment. - Repair abroad
Allows partial damage to the insured vehicle to be repaired in the country where the event occurred. Available at an additional premium for vehicles up to 8 years old.

How to take out a policy
- When the policy is written the car is presented for inspection by a representative of the insurer, in order to establish its condition, identify it and record any damage or missing parts.
- To take out a policy you will need to bring the following documents:
- the vehicle’s ownership documents;
- the owner’s identity document;
- a proposal form for the policy.
